Data Deletion
Effective date: 2026-05-13
Last updated: 2026-05-13
This page explains how to delete your data from DotTracks. For the full Privacy Policy, see /privacy.
1. How to delete your data
In-app (recommended). Open DotTracks → Profile (top-right icon) → Delete account & data → Confirm. This deletes your pseudonymous Firebase user ID, all cloud-saved progress, and clears local app data within seconds.
Tapping "Delete account & data" immediately clears local app data on your device and initiates the server-side deletion of your pseudonymous Firebase user ID and the cloud-saved progress linked to it. Server-side deletion is normally completed without undue delay and in any event within 30 days.
2. If you have already uninstalled the app
If you have already uninstalled DotTracks and cannot use the in-app deletion flow:
- Email hello.dottrack@outlook.com
- Include your pseudonymous Firebase user ID if you noted it before uninstall (it was visible in Profile → About in the app).
- Without the ID we may be unable to identify and delete your data, as we hold no other identifiers (no name, email, or device info linked to you).
- We respond within 30 days under GDPR / UK GDPR / Swiss FADP.
3. What gets deleted
- Pseudonymous Firebase Authentication user (UID).
- Cloud-saved gameplay progress
(Firestore:
users/{uid}/progress/completed). - Analytics event-level data linked to that UID, where technically feasible.
- Backup residual copies are removed according to our backup retention schedule and are not restored.
4. What we cannot delete
- Aggregated, non-identifiable analytics reports (cannot be re-linked to a user).
- Data we are legally required to retain (e.g. tax/accounting if applicable to in-app purchases — not currently applicable since DotTracks is free).
